We believe in a community where homeowners are partners, not outsiders.
Where rules protect—not punish—our investment.
Where open meetings, respectful dialogue, and clear documentation guide every decision.
A Message to My Neighbors: Why We Need to Get Involved
I’ve owned a condo in Cloister Pointe since 1980 and like many of you, I believed this was a community built on fairness and respect. But over the past year, I’ve learned how quickly things can change when homeowners are not informed, not included, and not listened to.
Cloister Pointe's HOA Board Members and CMC Management has denied qualified tenants, even though they met every requirement. This is causing financial hardship for my mother, who depends on this income for her health and care. No family in our community should ever be harmed because the HOA refuses to follow proper procedures—especially when Board Members have a fiduciary duty, meaning they are legally obligated to act in the best interest of all homeowners with honesty, fairness, and loyalty.
When I asked Cloister Pointe's HOA Board Members and CMC Management for basic records—meeting notices, minutes, budgets, and board information—I expected simple answers. Instead, many of my requests were ignored. Documents were missing, incomplete, or never provided.
And I soon found out I wasn’t the only one. Many of you told me you never received notices of rule changes or meetings. Some said decisions were made without your knowledge or input. Many homeowners—and even tenants of homeowners—have shared that they, too, have felt targeted or mistreated. Several have described being harassed by the HOA or management, charged for home repairs that should never have been billed to them, or fined for “improper work” on their homes even when the work was done correctly or approved. These patterns create fear, confusion, and frustration throughout Cloister Pointe. No resident should feel bullied, intimidated, or unfairly penalized in the place they call home.
Now, the HOA is trying to fine and punish homeowners using Rules and Regulations that were never legally approved. When several of us signed a petition asking the board to stop and follow the correct process, the board ignored it. They are attempting to enforce rules that homeowners never voted on, never agreed to, and never had the chance to review.
This is not how a healthy community operates.
This is not how a lawful HOA Board and an accredited Better Business Bureau Property Management company behaves.
And this is not how homeowners should be treated.
We deserve better.
Our community deserves better.
But here is the truth:
The HOA only has power when homeowners stay silent.
When we get involved—when we attend meetings, ask questions, and stand together—we protect our rights and protect each other.
It takes all of us speaking up and showing up.
This is our community.
Our homes.
Our families.
And our futures.
Let’s stand together and make sure Cloister Pointe is a place we can call "home."
